A short list of great products
Vol. 4
THIS AS MASCARA, TRUST ME
For dark, natural lashes, I use this liquid eyeliner as mascara. No clumps. No flaking product under my eyes. It almost looks like I dyed my eyelashes. It also washes off so easily. How I apply it: remove excess product by wiping the wand against the base of the tube (or with a tissue for an ultra natural look) and lightly coat lashes by dragging the wand in between them - focusing on the roots and outer corners. The best $40 I may have ever spent.
I also occasionally use it as directed (as eyeliner) on my upper lash line, going slightly higher at the outer corner (but no obvious wing situation).
Available at Violet Grey and Chanel.
A STATEMENT SHOE FOR SUMMER
A pair of shoes that will make your outfit. Equally colorful/fun and versatile/practical. They’d go with just about anything, and you could stand in them all day. Available here, here, here, and here (lots of colors, I like the black and white as well).
MINTS
I love mints. These are my go-to at the moment.
REALLY GOOD DENIM
High waist, solid wash, non stretch (elastic ruins jeans inmho, think about vintage Levi’s…). Available here and here. On sale here. Also love these yellow and red jeans by Ulla.
SLIDES
I love a slide. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a pair with a tiny little heel like this… feels retro in a good way. I’m always looking for comfortable, simple shoes that are elevated enough for nighttime. These are a great option.
VINTAGE-ESQUE
Such a nice cut with extra volume in the arms and torso. It looks like the sort of vintage cardigan you’d hunt for for years. Super cozy and charming beading detail.
MY TENNIS NECKLACE
I own this in 16” and wear it constantly. I like the jagged edges. A tennis necklace might be the most classic and versatile piece of jewelry there is (literally t-shirt to black tie). Layer two in different lengths or wear one for a classic look.
THE ULTIMATE PAREO
I think a pareo is the perfect way to indulge in a fun, memorable piece. Usually I don’t like things that are identifiable as a certain brand, but this Dolce print is so timeless and light hearted. You could wear this forever, nothing trendy or dated about it. Get it here or here.
CIGARETTE PANTS
High waist, slightly tapered, ankle grazing. Very Betty Draper. Get them here. Here is a second option in a similar, but more modern, cut.
A LITTLE UPDATE
After taking a break from photographing myself and my style the past few years, I am ready to share again. This time, in a less public format - with paid subscribers of this newsletter. I am evolving my style while I travel in Europe living out of a suitcase, and I’ll be documenting how I go about curating a capsule wardrobe of easy, functional pieces and figuring out a low maintenance hairstyle to match. I don’t have it figured out - far from it. These letters will be more about the process. A bit too real (vulnerable?) to post on Instagram or make available to the general public. Upgrade at the link below for full access to personal images and notes.
