And why I left Substack

This week I am trying something new. I recorded a video, which I thought might be nicer than a long-form letter. It gave me the opportunity to mention all kinds of things and say much more than I would if I were writing.

This is the salad I mention in the video.

Sorry the second photo is horrible quality, but it shows how much of each ingredient: tuna (packed in olive oil), any salad green chopped, cucumber, tomato, canned garbanzo beans. I sprinkle coarse salt liberally, squeeze half a lemon on top, drizzle some olive oil, and dollop maybe a teaspoon or so of olive tapenade. You can swap in all kinds of veggies, tinned fish, etc. I pull refrigerated ingredients out about 30 min before I make the salad, so they aren’t too cold.

The platform I left Substack for is called Beehiiv. I’ll receive a commission if you sign up through that link, which I appreciate!
