SUEDE COWBOY BOOTS
Timeless, comfortable, durable, chic. This feels like a closet staple for just about everyone. They look good in the city, the country, and everywhere in between. They’ll never look dated or trendy. You’ll wear them for years.
I find this heel height and shape so comfortable - better than a flat. And I love suede shoes. Most of the styles I designed for Marais were suede - it adds so much richness and texture to an outfit.
I was very selective about the toe shapes that made it into this edit. These are all timeless and evoke the classic cowboy look to me (none are angular, square, or otherwise trendy).
I especially like the lighter colors for people who want to wear them year round, including the summer months. Or prefer a more casual vibe.
Black could read as a bit dressier or more urban, depending on how you style them. I just ordered #3 (below). They’ll serve as an everyday boot, while also being an option for looking nicer at night.
Some of these happen to be on sale. If you decide to get a pair, I encourage you to pick the ones you love the most and want to wear for many years - instead of something that feels like a “good deal” or triggers FOMO. Buy what you love.
1. A little glam with the hardware. Knee-high = extra cute with dresses/skirts, of course also great with jeans.
2. The fun shorter, wider shaft makes these the most statement making, fashion-y option here, but still timeless. 10/10 would love to wear for years to come. Also available in tan.
3. I got these ones. Classic, beautifully made, perfect for day to night. They’ll look better and better the more they’re broken in. The price displayed on their site reflects the sale.
4. Love this rich chocolate brown suede. Pair with anything you’d wear a black boot with. Their holiday sale starts Nov 26, in case the link doesn’t work.
5. These are so cool, literally a work of art. Quality and longevity to justify the price tag.
6. Tons of colors here. I’d go for knee-high if you want to wear with skirts/dresses. Obvi great with pants too.
Also just came across these from Re/Done. If you’ll only wear them with pants, they could be a contender… I don’t think they work with skirts/dresses though.
Here are my new boots in context with my capsule wardrobe:
Accessories: tan scarf, silk scarf, straw bag
Shoes: suede boots (eyed these, these, these), sneakers, running shoes (thinking these)
Tops (left to right): vintage sweatshirt, Breton top (similar), linen oxford, popcorn sweater (here and here), jacket (large), oversized turtleneck, fitted crewneck cashmere (also here, here and here), white tees, long sleeved tee
Bottoms: white jeans, blue jeans, black jeans, sweats, leggings
